When it’s finally time to put away the nursery bedding, it can be hard for parents to let go of the stages their kids go through. Kids grow up so fast and they have so many phases that it can be hard for parents to keep up with them. They just get used to one way their children act and before they know it, the kid is getting into vampire stuff. Parents really need to realize that they have to love their kids no matter what at this age. Since they are going through such a hard time until they hit college, it can make a huge difference whether parents embrace the change in their kids or reject them for it.

Many children will go through an attention seeking phase where they act like someone else entirely. But that doesn’t mean that you have to stop buying them birthday party supplies and ground them until they see things the way that you do. There are many different ways to handle your children’s mistakes and shutting them away from what is important to them will only push them farther away.

So the next time you try to punish your kids for something they thought was right, try talking to them for half an hour or so about anything. It will help and you won’t have to cancel all those party supplies you ordered for their birthday.
